Gashapon & PVC figures

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

I’ve asked around LYN hobby forums, so here is what I came up with. Tallest gashapon (capsule toys) are about 8cm, according to infested, Yujin makes the best gasapon for girls figures, in this case ichigo 100%, KOF, etc. In M’sia japanese gashapon are sold in sets because there are no capsule machines lol. For PVC figures, I only get something like 13-22cm. My main reference for latest figures is Hobby Link Japan, and also XL-Shop. It’s always best to choose right in the shops, to keep in mind, my main target is the perfect Ayanami Rei figure. In the meantime I’ve got some favourites from HLJ.

  • (Alter) 1/8 Alvis E. Hamilton PVC
From Last Exile. Stands about 15cm; Always loved Last Exile’s characters.

  • (Mega House) Eureka PVC
    HLJ price : ¥3800/RM120.71
  • (Kotobukiya) 1/8 Saber PVC
From Fate Stay Night, one of my favourite characters.
    HLJ price : ¥3480/RM110.55

  • (kotobukiya) 1/8 Tousaka Rin PVC
Thought I’d get another one from Fate Stay Night.
    HLJ price : ¥3480/RM110.55

  • (Sega) EX Figure Ayanami Educating Project A
19cm, wonder why it is so cheap.
    HLJ price : ¥1500/RM47.65

Gundam : Fix Figuration Part 2

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

December, finally can post pics again. OK, back to ZAKU! Here is the other list btw, from my other blog. Let’s revise the prices again, Gundam Fix Figuration goes about ¥3680 (RM116.90) But XL-Shop sells them at about RM150. Other models can vary, for example GFF#0025 goes for ¥5500
(RM174.71) XL-Shop sells at RM230.00. I understand that there is shipping
cost, but I think this is a bit overpriced, I need to find some
alternative shops. Wish I could get teh Deep Striker…

30th Nov. Entry

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

30th November, last day of the month. Looking forward to December because in mid-december will be going to KL to get my rig, along with passport renewal. I expect some difficulties though, my rig will probably be heavy and big enough to kill me along the trip back. Anyway, this is my chance to get hold of the gundam! Hope he don’t mind forking another hundred ringgit. Found an alternative to XL-shop, HGS and Fantasy Toys, quite conveniently in Lowyat! OK, what’s left for me to do is to choose which one to buy. In my other blog I’ve made another revised wishlist that includes Zaku. That particular zaku might not be available so maybe I’d get the act zaku, damn fell in love with zaku since way back in the 90s. I’ve narrowed the list :

  • Zeonography #3007 Act Zaku
  • Zeonography #3004b Rick Dom
  • Zeonography #3001 MS-06F Zaku II
  • GFF #0025 Xi Gundam

Dragon Armor

Thursday, November 24th, 2005

Discussed this with Alice also, he is apparently has great passion on WWII Models and he has showed his WWII collections on the clan forum, it’s just amazing, tanks, airplanes all in various scales. What impressed me most is his B-17 Flying Fortress bomber, that thing is HUGE.

As for me, I plan to start my WWII collection with Dragon Armor tanks. Well, dragon is by far the best company in this particular section. Dragon Armor tanks are 1/72 in scale, metal die-cast and the great thing is, it comes with a plastic display case. Prices are about RM70-76 for regular tanks. Models I want; europe forest camo :

  • Tiger-I Mid Production, sPzAbt 508, March 1944
    L_drr60020

  • StuG IV, Sd. Kfz. 167 (Late Final Production), Ardennes 1945
    L_drr60117

  • Jagdpanther, Sd. Kfz. 173, France 1944
    L_drr60038

*Side note : Strange, Dragon Armor don’t seem to have Panzerkampfwagen IV (yet). It’s rather strange that they haven’t made the ‘invincible’ tank that led the german to glory in europe. Maybe I’d pick up the legendary M1A2 Abrams too!

Gundam : Fix Figuration

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

OK, I’ve been doing some research on gundam figures, I’ve talked with my former clan-mate Alice, who is a l33t collector he got some BIG collections. Unfortunately he don’t specialize in vinyll dolls. So first, I’ve decided which gundam to get; There are two types of gundam figures, one is model kit where you assemble & airbrush it yourself, and the pre-assembled & painted ones, in this case, it is called the Gundam Fix Figuration. Since I’m not interested in airbrushing, I’ll get the pre-assembled one. The Fix Figuration is about RM160-200, except for the #0013 is S$120 which is about RM267; only planning to get ONE of these. Here are the models I’m planning to get :

*Side note : I also considering to get #0013 Deep Striker, which is twice the price of regular fix, but alice say to grab it at sight coz it has been re-release, it might not be available later.

Range Murata

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

Range Murata is the artist behind Last Exile’s character designs. His style is a bit unique but I’ve gotta say it’s an instant win nontheless. The most noticeable unique-ness of his work is his eyes designs, the shape is apparent with the black outline. The character designs, in my opinion is leaning more to semi realistic designs, and his brush-like blurry colors makes it more artistic. From what I’ve seen, he seems to prefer short haired girls, for example like the one below. However, in idlechan there is  ABe Yoshitoshi (安倍吉俊) board, it looks like abe and range murata is the same person, I’m not sure of that though. Anyway, I’ve been looking high and low for his CG works, I did find a torrent in deadfrog but the seeder is nowhere to be seen, damn those leechers…

Horst Wessel Lied

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

I’ve re-found this again, the nazi anthem, Horst Wessel Lied. I previously deleted it when my obsession towards nazi faded away. Well I should’ve known that otaku love these things, just think about the nazi moe girls CG I’ve came across with. Ofcourse, we are not interested with the nazism beliefs, we just amazed by the german dominance and power in europe, and is considered cool among geeks like me hehe. Thought of putting the lyrics here. LOL I get this warm and fuzzy feeling when I sing this thing. Just in case I’ve uploaded the mp3 here.

Horst Wessel Lied
Die Fahne hoch die Reihen fest geschlossen
S. A. marschiert mit ruhig festem Schritt

Bald flattern Hitler-fahnen Uber allen Strassen
Die Knechtschaft dauert nur mehr kurze Zeit

Die Fahne hoch die Reihen fest geschlossen
S. A. marschiert mit ruhig festem Schritt
Kam’raden die Rotfront und Reaktion erschossen
Marschier’n im Geist in unsern Reihen mit

Sunday

I noticed that in LYN Arsenal Street Talk there is a particular user who likes to write some unconstructive essays regarding his toughts on Arsenal. Well, if he wanted to write an essay, he should make it neater, so that ppl could easily read it, somemore his thoughts are either stupid or he’s just repeating exactly what the previous posts say, it’s like he knew ppl said it, but he wanted to say it no matter what. One time he even said he wanted Wenger to sale Lauren, lol what a retard.

Anyway, Arsenal clinched their first away win at the JJB stadium, very few would’ve predicted the final score 2-3; Persie and Henry scored the first two goals, routine goals for Arsenal. What impressed me the most was Henry’s FK goal from way 30m off. He made it look so easy, a clean and crisp goal. Defence is dissapointing as expected, Wigan managed to snatch our clean sheet by scoring two goals. At the end of the day, Arsenal walked away with 3 points, cheers to Arsene.

I just installed Need For Speed : Most Wanted on my comp. I had to say it’s freaking awesome! Amazing visuals and effects made it an instant win. Usually I don’t really like NFS series as some of you might’ve already noticed, EA games are more to arcade than simulation, NFSMW is no exception, it felt arcade as ever, but the astonishing graphics and innovative gameplay made me forget all of those. Worth the grab, rock solid 4/5.

It seems that…

The surgery has been postponed, no exact dates yet but it has been a week already, damn scared I’m pissing my pants off! But what the heck? I was pissed off the first place when I had to spend one night in the ward then he just blew it off and postponed it. I understand the prof’s a busy man, but jeez I thought I’d die out of boredom there.

I’ll be staying here for atleast another 6 months. The thing is, the education flow is obviously not in sync, so there’s a 6 month difference, if I make the shift 6 months later, I can make it to the second year without facing the examinations which determines the science classes. Well, It sucks having to stay in the same old school for another half year but advantage is I can finish my japanese course into intermediate, now I only need to finish ‘advanced’ level and then I can go Japan without any language problems.

Damn it but I can’t wait till I finally get my rig, though I’m still looking for the perfect case, right now it is the Centurion 5 with side window. One other thing the board I asked is unavailable, so they recommend an MSI board, forgot the model but it got firewire. Right, I shall name her, I’ve yet to find the perfect name for this comp. What I had in my right now, aki(秋/あき), fifi(フィフィ), or maybe my classics such as audiowagen, soundfabric etc. Heck I like Netherlands, why not call it オレンジ(orange) instead?

Speaking of which, I’ve found out the dutch’s obsession towards the orange color, my dutch friend told me. Well, obsession is such a strong word, orange is the symbol of the Netherland since as long as 1700s. That time, dutch were fighting againts Spain if I’m not mistaken and the king that time was Willem Van Oranje (Orange). Well his name of color has been the symbol of Netherland ever since. Note that Oranje is pronounced Oranye the same way we indonesian pronounce it :D

Time for some geekness!

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005

The days are fast approaching where I won’t be able to do this, so might as well plan now. I’m one lame japan fanboy, every single bit of my collection are all from the net. I don’t mind illegal stuff as long as I get them but, having a digital colletion ain’t that fun, I need some physical collections like action figures, artbooks, anime DVDs and other goodies. Figures I want to have are gundam, that could be a bit expensive, wait for those later. It’d be easier if I look for these in Indonesia, J-culture much more popular there, can just go to VEGA, everything there. In the mean time though, I bet KL got enough collection to statisfy me. Will look in LYN forum for the stores. So the figures I want are :

- WWII action figures (Dragon), preferably the kraupts.
- WWII tanks, metal diecast; PanzerkampfwagenIV, Konigstiger
- Hitler figure, ’tis is a must ^^
- Rei Ayanami, "it’s teh rei!"
- Millia Rage (GGXX)
- Other figurines
- Gundam figures (ZAKU!)
- Starwars figures, Stormtroopers
